Here's a slightly abbreviated email I just got(!!!)
"I think your idea is great. It's exactly the kind of thing we want to support: ambitious but the kind of thing most people could do if they really put their minds to it. (...) I am talking to some of our sponsors about getting some equipment to you in Canada. I love what you guys are doing and really hope that we'll be able to help. Apologies again for not being able to give you a definite answer. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Tim and the team" I was sitting in the GIS lab at school, a space often filled with people I know, but also quite quiet most of the time. Needless to say, I could not contain my excitement and may have let out a little squeal before telling everyone there what just happened. I then let everyone get back to work and did an internal happy dance. Here's a link to his post announcing the winners. Those other projects look so amazing! I just want to do them all. I can't believe that this is up there with those epic people and projects!
